VOODOO! OMG!

netsh is a command line scripting utility in windows XP. For our purposes the most useful command in netsh is restoring the TCP/IP stack in XP. Windows XP does not offer any other option for reinstalling TCP/IP. Reinstalling TCP/IP is sometimes the only option for customers who are having browsing issues.

The process for reinstalling TCP/IP:

Open a DOS prompt by going to start, run, cmd

Type netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt The cursor will move down to the next line without any message. Reboot the computer.

It's also good for fixing Winsocks.
