I get questions like this at least once a week.

They think that because we give them a way to get to the internet, we know everything about computers, and should.

You very carefully explain to them that "we provide you the connection. That's our product. Your computer you purchased separately and independently of our service. That's not our product. As such we would be not only unprofessional but irresponsible to try to tell you how to install or do anything on a product not ours."
