I had to shift mindsets. Don't read it immediately after reading Emma Bull or Charles de Lint or anything. Gear up by reading autopsy reports or weird porn. Or both. :D Other than that, it's *fun*. And it has the kind of romance in it that's right up my alley. IE, the kind of romance Warren really likes writing. And is really good at.
