Any King's Highway - Road Song 4/22
Apr. 25th, 2003 07:40 pmRivers of light streaming up- and downhill
Delineated by stationary tethered stars
Which from the riverboats seem brilliant ribbons
Rushing glowing runners beating back the night
In a landscape painted in sparkling black and
Glittering grey with white and yellow highlights
Navy half-occluded ocean above the symphony
Written for roaring growling fire and wild power
And blares, humming metal, shrieking dis-chordia
All of this conducted by distant white eyes
Scattered in a larger-than-life spiral arm
That reaches over silver-dollar and bridged river both
And points wordlessly at a still wider shore
Delineated by stationary tethered stars
Which from the riverboats seem brilliant ribbons
Rushing glowing runners beating back the night
In a landscape painted in sparkling black and
Glittering grey with white and yellow highlights
Navy half-occluded ocean above the symphony
Written for roaring growling fire and wild power
And blares, humming metal, shrieking dis-chordia
All of this conducted by distant white eyes
Scattered in a larger-than-life spiral arm
That reaches over silver-dollar and bridged river both
And points wordlessly at a still wider shore
