RL NAME: Gina Donahue (ssh, don't tell! Seeeecret!)

CHARACTER NAME & ALIASES:
Powergirl (alternately, Power Girl), Karen Starr, Kara

CHARACTER'S PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES (Include Strength, Speed & Agility)

Kara has powers similar to those of Superman. (She doesn't have his
superspeed or his vision powers, but she's definitely a brick. I'll go
into her powers later, but I figured I'd mention that bit now.) She's
reasonably fast, very likely due to the fact that her physiology was
designed for life under tons of water (which would naturally hamper
movement quite a bit for a non-fish, or non-Leviathan...etc.) She's
naturally strong and agile, which makes sense the same way the speed
does. Maneuvering in air is sigmas easier than doing so in water.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
CHARACTER'S RESOURCES (Include Wealth, Skills, Tech and Contacts)

As Karen Starr, PG has professional contacts up the wazoo, in the
computer industry. She's independently wealthy! She's been running her
software design company, StarrWare, quite successfully for several
years - therefore, she has the tech and knows how to use it. It's
not like she owns a Cray, but it's reasonable to assume she has access
to the latest and greatest.
As Powergirl, Kara's been a member of Justice League Europe, and thus
has earned the respect...well, okay, maybe not /respect/, as such, but...
hell! I'll say respect if I want to! Well...at any rate, the hero community
is well aware of her, and she's easily recognisable to anyone who sees
her. She's gone through some costume changes, but those hoo- um, those
ti- er, that che-...wow. People know her on sight; most heroes would be
willing to assist her should she ever require it.
Also, she...er...is affiliated with Aquaman. Sort of.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
CHARACTER COMBAT SKILLS (Include comparisons to other characters)

Ohh, lordy, Powergirl gets /mad/. She gets really freakin' angry and
loses her temper, and goes all raging rampage in battle. I'd tend to
compare her methods with Azrael's, to a degree, where her judgement
is clouded, obscured until after the fact. She makes rash decisions,
and would tend to hit until well after the opponent's stopped moving.
(Generally, however, /because/ of her poor judgement, she's likely to
miss weaknesses and openings, and get her butt handed to her until
further notice.)
I'd also say her combat skills compare well to the Flash's: she
tends to hit hard and fast, and go in without a plan. Like Wally, she'd
rather act first and worry later; she gets frustrated with talk.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
CHARACTER'S POST-CRISIS ORIGIN & HISTORY (Please be detailed)

Okay, this is a little goofy, and I don't have a very high opinion of it.
But that's not for me to say; I'm not an editor, and I wasn't faced with
the terrible ordeal of trying to keep an Earth-2 character around after
the Crisis...so I won't be judgemental. Really.
Kara was born some 45,000-odd years ago, granddaughter to Arion,
high sorcerer of Atlantis. Arion's greatest foe, Gam Daanuth, tried to use
the two-year-old Kara as a magical conduit against him (Arion), and the
old guy decided he'd much rather send his grandkid into another dimension
than have her either die or beused as a pawn for the forces of evil. Good
sense, that. So bamf, there was Kara, in a sort of suspended animation
that wasn't really suspended (more like ridiculously slowed - like in that
episode of Star Trek:TNG with the time bubbles), in a crystal ship. The
ship was programmed with Arion's personality and memories, and kept the
child safe until it decided the world was okay. (By that time, she was 22
and it was 45000 years later.)
In order for Kara to fit in and be accepted, the ship implanted
false memories into her consciousness, leading her to believe that she was
the cousin of Superman. (And, therefore, Kryptonian.) She found out,
though, that Superman was supposed to be the last survivor of Krypton,
which meant that she couldn't possibly be from the same planet. PG was
then naturally curious about her origins. The chick went and activated her
crystal ship again, which brought forth Arion's consciousness. The effigy
of her granddad told her that it lied, basically, and that she was really
Atlantean. After that, she spent time on Skataris exploring her origins.
Before she found out she wasn't really Superman's cousin, Clark
stuck her in the Justice Society as a kind of junior member, for power
training. When the JSA was sucked into Limbo after Invasion, she was
without a team, and ended up as a charter member of the JLE. A bit
afterwards, the JLE and the JLA went off to the Balkans to fight vampires,
which were led by the Grey Man, who was an old enemy of Dr. Fate...a magic
guy. PG, being very vulnerable to magic, got severely injured when she
tried to flatten him. She basically got pulped on the inside from the
magical pimpsmack the Grey Man dealt her, but no one could fix her after
the battle because her invulnerability kicked in. Enter Superman, with a
heat-vision scalpel (ouch.) After this surgery, she lost her vision powers
and all her other power levels were reduced.
Powergirl then went with Aquaman to Poseidonis to find out more
about her heritage, and (since she had this long-running crush on him)
tried to get him to sleep with her. Orin turned her down, and she left in
a huff...andwent and made out with Hal instead. They almost went all the
way, but she came to her senses and realized that it wasn't what she
wanted, and she was just acting out of anger and pettiness. (Though it
/was/ Hal, and *I* would've...um, nevermind.)
So she goes back to the JLE and is always PMSing, except it's not
PMS, and Dr. Light told her that there was a very easy way to fix her
b*tchiness. Light had gone to /her/ doctor, who told her that superhuman
chicks and diet soda (which Kara was addicted to) didn't mix.
I guess I have to add that she was supernaturally impregnated, and
her kid grew up insanely fast to become 'Equinox', a Wicca messiah guy.
He battled a really ugly freak with eyeballs for kneecaps, called
Scarabus, and flew off into the sunset. That happened right around the
cutoff, and I'd rather not include it. It was stupid.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
CHARACTER'S META-HUMAN POWERS (If none, please put 'Mortal: N/A')

Powergirl can move at about Mach 3, can fly, can lift about 500,000 tons,
has limited invulnerability, and heals really fast. She's a brick!

-------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT ISSUE W/YOUR CHARACTER DID YOU LIKE BEST & WHY? (Min: 6 lines)

I really dug Kara in the Deconstructo arc in Justice League Europe. I
feel that it fairly accurately showcased a bunch of facets of her
personality, and there was a lot of interpersonal interaction. You saw
how she acted around each of her friends and teammates, and what she
thought of their abilities and/or personalities, and how freaking /bossy/
she could be, and how utterly unthinking she could be. It also showed
that when she thought her actions over, she had the ability to be rational
and try to improve herself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT ISSUE DID YOU DISLIKE MOST & WHY? (Min: 6 lines)

I didn't really like her in her own miniseries, but that was mostly
because of the art. It was so...so /eighties/. Blah. I don't think
anything I've read with Kara in it I actually detested. She's neat that
way.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
HAVE YOU PLAYED OTHER MU*s? WHERE & AS WHO?

I've played a bunch of people in the past, on a WHOLE slew of places, and
it's really way too long to list. Some people I play currently are
Madison Clark at ChampionsMUX, Alice at FTA, and Cosmic Boy at LegionMUX.
